Bel Canto Serioso 1.0

Bel Canto Serioso is a comprehensive voice training application offering a diverse range of vocal exercises designed to enhance singing skills. It also supports ear training and solfege practice, including chromatic solfege modalities.

The application features over 60 vocal exercises, which can be performed in either major or minor tonalities, within customizable ranges and tempo settings. For example, users can practice the Rossini scale in major or harmonic minor, or explore pentatonic exercises in either major or minor modes. Triad and arpeggio exercises can be played with five different qualities: major, minor, suspended, diminished, and augmented. Some exercises also facilitate practice with whole tone scales.

Filtering options include interval span (such as third, fifth, sixth) and motion type (descending, stepwise, skipwise, agility, glides, diatonic). Exercise ranges can be tailored according to the voice classification, with an additional advanced section for female or male voices if initial ranges are limiting. All scales can be performed at any tempo between 45 and 260 bpm. Users can bookmark exercises for quick access.

The current note of the exercise is displayed textually (e.g., Bb4, Sib4, Te4). In the settings, users can select their preferred solfege system from English, Italian, or Chromatic solfege; the app then displays note names accordingly.

The app offers two playback modes: - Auto mode performs exercises within the chosen range automatically. - Manual mode allows users to navigate exercises manually higher or lower in pitch, facilitating practice akin to instrumental training—repeating challenging sections and progressing when ready.
